Match Day 8 - 4th of April 2006

The Scorpions played very well today in all areas except in front of goal where our finishing let us down. In fact we had more shots at goal than the opposition but in the end converted less to end the match 5 - 10.

The team played a very tight defensive game controlling play and possession to lead early on 1 - 0 through Serge's goal and held that lead for the majority of the first half. Then a series of unfortunate events lead to us conceding 3 goals through deflections off defenders or in one instance a rebound off David's own back! In the second half, Kien and Steven added to our tally and the team continued to control play but clinical finishing from the opposition from a a handful of counterattacks buried the Scorpion machine.

Roger and Gordon never let the team down as they battled to the end. Its true that the best team doesn't always end up winning and that was the case here but we can be proud of a very accomplished performance. It will only require a small improvement in converting chances from scoring positions that will see us win more matches and start making the climb back up the ladder.
