The mighty FreeStream Scorpions were back tonight in a big way. Despite fielding a depleted side (Alex - no show, Simon - preparing for overseas travel and unable to play Steve - injured playing the outdoor version and unable to play and Serge - broken thumb, suspect hamstring but able to play!) we dominated most of the match and ran out worthy 6 - 3 winners in the end.

We even managed to break our habit of giving away early leads and entered the

half time break in control with a 3 - 1 lead. A few quick goals from the opposition at the start of the second half gave us a small fright. However, we pulled all our resources and willpower together and despite Serge playing the entire second half with an aggravated hamstring muscle tear (and unable to sub off because we didn't have any subs), everyone got on the score sheet to eventually overrun the other side.

David played a splendid match in the unfamiliar position of goalie. Gordon defended resolutely (as always) and even drove a beauty into the back of the opposition's net during one of his many attacking forays. Roger was targeted all night by his "favorite" referee but managed to

keep his cool and score valuable goals which showed his strength of character, while Kien converted a couple of goals in great predatory fashion. Serge drilled the ball home from the penalty spot and played a courageous match despite being hampered for pace due to his injury for much of the match. All up, a great team effort!

Now that the team is back in the victor's circle we intend on staying there and eagerly look forward to next week's match.
