The FreeStream Scorpions

The FreeStream Scorpions started their Airport West Indoor Football campaign with a resounding victory 11 - 1 tonight. In fact the other team’s only goal was from the penalty spot and other than that Simon Ereaut, the stand in goalie, only had to make a couple of saves all night.

Bored in goal (defense)

The entire team played well as a unit and had a fast passing game for the most part. There were masterly performances in defence by Gordon Lloyd - who was largely to blame for Simon’s (goal-keeper) boredom in goals and the Roccuzzo brothers, David and Steve constantly teasing the opposition and scoring the bulk of the team’s goals between them.

Roger Devit in midfield had a really solid game and there wasn’t much that got passed him (he’s been working out!). While Kien Lee in the forward line was unlucky to hit the post with a penalty kick and have a goal disallowed as the ball crossed the goal line milliseconds after the final whistle! Oh and let’s not forget about yours truly, the captain, Sergio Lopez , who chipped in with a few goals and lots of encouragement.

According to the centre management, the team looks great in their FreeStream outfits (check out the team photo), maybe we should offer them a discount on an Internet security service for the compliment? Hmmm...

We’re really looking forward to our next match when Alex Borg our regular keeper will be playing, giving Simon a chance to ruffle a few feathers with his hustle and bustle style.
